Obituary for Ronald Steven "Ron" Kun

    Ronald Steven "Ron" Kun
Ron Steven Kun was born on May 7, 1940 in Tisdale Hospital and passed away in St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon on March 16, 2015.
Ron worked in the mine at Thompson, Manitoba for five months. Later he worked for three years at the Damn in Squaw Rapids. On October 6, 1962, Ron married the love of his life Bev McConnell, daughter of Helen & Leonard McConnell. Ron then worked on road construction and land clearing. Ron and Bev lived in Mistatim for a few years then took over the family farm. Later Ron took a one year course in auto mechanics in The Pas, Manitoba. Ron then went into the backhoe operations and had his own construction company, water, sewer installing and excavating. Ron and Bev had their first son , Eugene on November 6, 1963, and on October 28, 1965 their second son Terry was born. Ron retired from his construction company in 2014, but was always there to lend a helping hand when ever needed as his oldest son Eugene took over the family business. In November 2014 Ron and Bev moved into Porcupine Plain due to poor health issues.
Ron loved to travel and spent 15 years in Desert Hot Springs, California for the winter months, and in 2004 Ron and Bev moved to Apache Junction, Arizona to spend the winter months. They travelled to many places, and took a cruise in 2010 to the Caribbean.
Ron loved entertaining his family and friends, the first thing he would ask as you walked through the door was “What would you like to drink?’ Ron loved making people laugh and had many jokes to share. Anyone who was in Ron’s company was sure to leave with a smile on their face. One of Ron’s favorite card games was Kaiser which he played with his friends. Another favorite was Sequence; this game was eventually renamed “Travelling Sequence” because that game went where ever Ron went so he could always play.
Ron is predeceased by his parents, Steve and Helen; a baby sister and brother-in-law Fred Miller.
Left to cherish Ron’s memory s his loving wife Bev; children Eugene, Terry and Sandra; grandsons Jesse and Josh; sister-in-law Brenda Miller; nephews Chris Miller and his family and Curtis and Michelle. Ron will forever be loved and missed by family and many friends. Our memories of him will always be cherished.
