    Obituary for Joyce Rosina Lawrence

    Joyce Rosina Lawrence
Joyce Rosina Yager was born on May 12, 1925 to Herman and Margaret Yager. She was the oldest of her three siblings; Vivian Hale, Sam Yager and Faye Desroisier. Joyce attended most of her schooling at ¬¬the ¬¬¬-Clashmoor school.
Joyce was ambitious and worked hard throughout her lifetime. Her many jobs included, waitressing at a local cafe, housekeeping for Mr. and Mrs. Harbridge; clerk the Robinson Store, the Tisdale Creamery, the Tisdale Co-op, the Tisdale Medical Clinic, and Co-ordinator of the Tisdale Helping Hands. Joyce even owned her own beauty salon after making a brave move to Saskatoon 1955 to attend Marvel Beauty School. She obtained her hairdressing certificate and moved back to Tisdale to open her own beauty salon 1956.
It was during this time she met and married the man of her dreams, Syd Lawrence in 1957. Together they owned and operated the Royalite fuel station for many years. Along with their fuel business, Joyce and Syd operated a small grain farm in the Minor Creek and Tisdale area. Together they travelled abundantly throughout Canada, the United States and even to Whales. During their retirement they spent 20+ enjoying their winters in Arizona. Syd and Joyce were married for 47 years.
Joyce’s only child, Ronald was born in 1943 and was the pride and joy of her life. Her pride multiplied when Ron married Linda Wallington and she became a grandmother to Todd, Stacie and Monique.
Joyce lived life to the fullest. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a dedicated volunteer to the community and friend to all.
Those who passed before Joyce are her parents, Herman and Margaret Yager, her son Ronald Hebert, her brother Sam Yager and her sister Faye Desroisier.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in law, Linda Hebert; grandson Todd (Gwen) Hebert, granddaughters Stacie (Rick) Wenbourne; Monique (Corey) Christianson and great grandchildren: Christopher and Caitlin Hebert; Zachery and Kelsey Wenbourne; Matthew, Scott and Adam Klebeck; sister, Vivian Hale; sister in-law- Bernice Yager and brother-in-law Gerard Desroisier; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.
