Richard Edwin Willerton was born March 2, 1925 at a farm near Steen, Saskatchewan; to parents Charlie and Doris Willerton. He attended North Hyde Country School up until grade 2, then he went to work on the family farm.
In the Midst of a horse deal he met his wife Viola Foy in 1943. They were married on November 27, 1945. Together they had two daughters; Gwen born in 1946 and Connie born in 1954.
Dad was a farmer at heart, he farmed from a boy till 1975. When he decided to retire from farming he then moved to Tisdale, Saskatchewan; where he then went to work for the Dept. of Highways. After 13 years of working for the Highways he retired.
In his retirement years Richard and Viola took up dancing, and excelled at old time dancing, and won several medals. They also did a lot of singing for different events all over the country. Dad and Mom enjoyed collecting dolls and many other collectables.
Dad lived in # 3 Evington Place in Tisdale until November 2015 when he moved to Caleb Village. He enjoyed his stay there amongst friends and acquaintances; and he was also close enough to visit mom at Newmarket Place.
Left to cherish Richard’s memory are his daughter Gwen (Larry) Ingram; their family: Darryl (Sandy) – Amy, Samantha and D.J. (Celina) ; Alvin – Stacy and Ryley (Jessica); Chet (Lindsey) – James and Evelyn; daughter Connie (Loyd) Frazer; their family: Vincent (Chandra) – Bailey, Abbigale and Joshua; Deann – Keely and Tony and her grandchildren: Logan, Kane, Zackura and Drake; Scott (Christina) – Declan, Alexis, Mason and Taylor; as many other relatives and friends.
He will be sadly missed by everyone.
