    Obituary for Owen Hugh Eaton

    Owen Hugh Eaton
Owen Hugh Eaton was born August 19, 1927 in New Osgoode, Saskatchewan, and grew up in the New Osgoode Area. Owen was the third son born to Violet and Homer Eaton; his youngest brother Jim Franklin from a second marriage lives in Nanimo, British Columbia; Llewelyn died at the age 20 in action; Gerry passed away 2 years ago from Cancer.

In the early years Owen farmed and spent his winters logging and trucking. He married and had 2 children Barry (lives in British Columbia) and Sandra (passed away).

Later he met and married Johannah in Tisdale; Johannah also brought her three girls Juliet, Gloria and Violet, all from Alberta. Owen drove the mail truck for several years and then they opened Hannigans Restaurant.

He loved flying airplanes and spent many happy hours at the airport with the club members. Some of his other interests included struggling with golf, tinkering in his workshop creating clocks, snapping pictures of the flowers Joanne grew and chatting on “coffee row”. He challenged himself at courses, one being the Dale Carnegie speaking course. He and Johannah loved camping, trying to snag that ever illusive fish and usually ended the day with family around the campfire in a sing-a-long to take the sting away after another near catch. Owen and some of his chums also had a band, practising in the basement regularly getting ready for their “Gig”; while Joanne was on coffee patrol. They also loved to dance, joining a square dance club making lasting friendships.

Owen loved Tisdale, his family and friends and will be missed by all. Thanks goes out to the hospital staff, ambulance staff, friends and family who were so helpful and supportive.
