Lena Clara Whitbread was born to William & Christine Schulz in Ogema, Saskatchewan on April 5, 1920.
She passed away peacefully at Parkland Place, Melfort, Saskatchewan on April 25, 2016.
She was predeceased by her parents and nine siblings; her first husband Frank Hamilton in 1955 and by her second husband Fred Whitbread in 1978; and sons Donald Hamilton in 2007 and Gordon Hamilton in 2011.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Robert Hamilton, Victor (Joan) Hamilton, Irene Enright, Iris Doyle, Gladys Solar, Roy Hamilton, Clara Beday, Fern (Doug) Thibodeau, Dorothy (Al) Richard, Patricia (Marston) Steinbach, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Lena enjoyed knitting, quilting and reading. Lena was an active member of the Salvation Army Church and a volunteer at the Thrift Store. She had resided in Tisdale since 1955.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who were her friends.
The family wishes to thank all caregivers and staff who tended to mom’s health and wellbeing during her life and final days. Also a thank you to all who attended mom’s service and share in our sorrow. Your thoughtfulness, condolences, prayers and encouragement are deeply valued and appreciated.
