Dorothy Zelma (Sealey) Edworthy was born September 5, 1922 at Arden, Manitoba. She passed away peacefully at Parkland Place in Melfort, Saskatchewan on April 13, 2017 with her family by her side.
Dorothy married Bill Edworthy on February 23, 1944. They farmed in the Norwood District where they raised their five children. In 1973 they retired from farming and moved to Star City. In 1993 they moved into Tisdale. After dad passed away in 2006, mom lived on her own in the suite; and a few years later she needed more care so she moved to McKay Tower in Tisdale. In 2013 mom broke her hip and her health kept failing, so in September 2013 she moved into Parkland Care Home and resided there until her passing.
Mom was an excellent cook, and enjoyed quilting, knitting, cross stitching, reading, word search, puzzles and of course playing ten off rummy for a loonie. For many years she loved to watch the Blue Jays; but most of all enjoyed the visits from family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Marlene (Jack) Garinger, Ray (Viv) Edworthy, Shirley (Ron) Lyons, Lorna (Keith) Lee and Allan Edworthy; brother Stan (Shirley) Sealey; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends
