Obituary for Maureen Sheena Gibson

A loving nana, a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend………all of these were Maureen. Maureen Sheena Ives was born in Tisdale, Sask. on February 28th, 1935.She was the youngest of 5, and the only daughter to Georgina Royal and Patrick Joseph (PJ) Ives. She was a beautiful, strong, red-headed girl who grew up and went to school in Tisdale; after highschool, attended Saskatoon Business College. She came back to Tisdale and worked as a Linotype operator for her family at the Tisdale Recorder for many years. Maureen, later in life, became a Home Care Aide and worked for Tisdale Home Care until her retirement.
She enjoyed her summers at her cabin at Barrier Ford Lake with her family and friends. She was also a member of the Star City Royal Purple and volunteered her time to various events. Maureen loved music and was part of the Tisdale Anglican Choir and enjoyed being part of her church family. She enjoyed travelling with friends and family and loved going on road-trips with close friends. Most times you would find Maureen relaxed and curled up in a corner reading a good book, which she enjoyed very much. Maureen loved her family and the history of her family, retelling stories of her youth, family roots and heritage. Maureen was a loving, caring, strong and faithful person who enjoyed her life. She endured a brief battle with Cancer until her untimely passing.
She is predeceased by her mother and father Georgina and PJ Ives, brothers: Harold and Jack Ives, niece Barb Sych, and sisters-in-law Mame, Fay and Norma Ives.
She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Maureen leaves to mourn, her daughter Donna (Dean) Prosky, granddaughters: Katie and Ashley Prosky; brothers: George and Joe Ives, sister-in-law Marie Ives, niece Edie Ives, nephews: Brady (Laurie) Ives, Don (Brenda) Ives, Jack (Barb) Ives and many more nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.).
