Iris Skinner was born on April 18, 1938 and passed away peacefully Sept 10, 2017 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. She spent most of her early years in Crooked River and Tisdale, and remained in Tisdale for her entire life. She married Godfrey (Friedel) Magnus on October 13, 1958, and they were blessed with 2 daughters, Shelley Lyn and Kristine. Iris worked at Magnus Construction for many years before opening Tisdale Clothesline with Shelley in 1984. She continued to operate the store until her passing. She loved interacting with her customers, who became her friends. Iris and Friedel also owned Tisdale Disposals with Shelley and Dennis, she handled the bookkeeping for the business. Music was an important part of Iris’s life. She taught piano for many years, and was known for her great jam sessions in their basement. Iris was predeceased by her husband, Friedel in 2009 and her brother Taras (Terry) in 2010. She is survived by her mother, Mae (Paul LeCerf), her daughters, Shelley Lyn (Dennis Beaudette) and Kris (David Bishop), her 4 grandchildren, Graeme, Sydney, Erin, and Renee, and her sister-in-law Sheena Skinner and family, as well as many Magnus family members. Donations in her memory can be made to the Salvation Army (Angel Tree) Box 415, Tisdale, SK, S0E 1T0, as this was a passion of hers every Christmas. As per Iris’s request, there will not be a funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to Barron’s Funeral Chapel & Crematorium.
