Obituary for Gordon William Oakley Last

Gordon was born on the family farm in the Tisdale area on February 22, 1923; the only child of Oakley and Minnie Last.
As a young man, Gordon met Olga Tataryn at Sylvania and they soon became engaged. After their engagement, Olga moved to Hamilton with the Tataryn family in 1943 and worked at the Canadian Westinghouse Plant during the war years. Gordon joined the Air Force and he trained at Saskatoon and then at the base in Dafoe before serving overseas with the R.C.AF. during WW11 as a Radio/Radar Operator. When the war ended, Gordon returned from service and he and Olga were married on June 29, 1946 in Hamilton, Ontario. Before returning to the farm in the Willow Hill District south of Tisdale, they enjoyed a honeymoon at Niagara Falls.
Gordon enjoyed farming very much and spent many hours in the shop designing and building various pieces of equipment that were used on the farm. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing hockey over the years. Gordon faithfully taught the adult Sunday School Class at the Tisdale Pentecostal Church for many years and was also involved in the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship.
On January 11, 2018 at the age of 94, Gordon went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ whom he loved and served. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Oakley and Minnie Last, and his loving wife Olga Last.
Gordon will be greatly missed by his son Allan (Sharon) Last, daughter Sharon Last (Darryl Schulz), grandson Jeff (Talina) Schulz and great grandson baby Roman Schulz who was born December 20, 2017; as well as his extended family and friends.
