Olive was born Oct. 12, 1929 in Tisdale, to Ed and Agnes Thompson; she was the 8th of 13 Thompson children. She enjoyed Berlin school, especially playing softball, and then finished her education at SLBI in Outlook. She worked in Tisdale, and then at the Royal Bank in Burnaby, living with Fern Dagg (Nontell) at her brother, Arnold's house. It's a good thing she enjoyed her freedom, because Real Marleau came out and asked her to come home to become a farmer's wife. Real and Olive were married on June 15, 1953, and enjoyed having the farm and having their family grow; between 1954 and 1965 the family expanded with the additions of Lorraine, Lynn, Brenda, Marc, Dwight and Yvonne. The Marleau home was active, welcoming, full of laughter, and always with the smell of Mom's great cooking. Real enjoyed her lefse so much he became an honorary Norwegian. In 1986 Real and Olive moved off the farm into their new home next to the Lion's park and found the size of home was just right for the expanding family. The first grandchild, Graham Wisser, was born in 1978, and the youngest, Luc Marleau, was born in 2001 with 15 in between. There was Graham, Adam, Nathan and Caitlyn Wisser, Karen, Katherine and Kevin Sand, Rebecca, Marla and Robin Ives, Myles and Mackenzie Marleau, Eriq and Luc Marleau, and Jared, Brady and Donovan Linnen. Mom/Grandma handled the ever growing family coolly, calmly, but sure liked to sit down when everyone left. Lots of good memories for so many of us.
Once Olive was truly retired from the farm; golf, curling and travelling south, especially to Yuma kept Mom happy. Life was to be celebrated. 65 years of marriage brought many celebrations. This past year eventually became a struggle with pain, and then in just 2 short weeks, there was no more pain, just peace.
She is predeceased by her parents, and siblings, Audrey Helm, Norman, Evelyn Bacon, Arnold, Marjorie Henning, Sadie McCombie, Orval, Harold, Leonard, and grandson Craig Wisser.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory is her beloved husband, Real, 6 children, 17 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, Zachary and Emily Radcliffe, Cade Baranec, and Jack Kindrat, she is survived by her sisters Beulah Limber, and Arleen Mar, and brother Marlin Thompson; as well as many extended family and friends.

“Olive us Thank Olive you…”
