Obituary for Hazel Elizabeth Reinhart

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Hazel Elizabeth Reinhart passed away on May 31, 2014 in the Melfort Union Hospital with family by her side. Lovingly remembered by and celebrating a life well lived are daughter Norma (Brian) Rowan, sons David, Bruce (Deb) and Grant (Lori); grandsons Aaron and Brennan Rowan, great-grandchildren Trista and Charlie; sister Violet (Robert) Tarry, brothers Maurice and Ernest Rolles; sisters-in-law Norma Korpatt and Muriel Siemens; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of extended family members and friends, including special friend, Maurene Jackson. Hazel was born and raised in the South Star district. Out of necessity, she developed a strong work ethic at an early age. This lifelong quality would define Hazel and serve her well in her various careers as wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver; school bus driver, small business owner, special care aide and custodian. No job from painting to carpet installation was too big or too small for Hazel to attempt. She had a generous soul and was always the first one to offer her assistance to anyone in need.
Hazel was a wonderful cook who always had more than enough for extra dinner guests. She was well known for her special art of gravy making and love of baking that created assorted morsels to satisfy many a sweet tooth. Hazel enjoyed knitting and was a talented seamstress. Hazel loved the outdoors, was an avid gardener who produced a bountiful garden and a variety of flowers. She enjoyed spending time at her cabin and searching for berries and other treasures of nature. Hazel was an avid artist who enjoyed success in many mediums as a painter, sketchier and sculptor. Hazel was predeceased by her husband Gerry; parents Martin and Hilda Rolles; siblings Edgar Rolles and Helen Jacklin; sisters-in-law Florence Rolles and Sheila Reinhart; brothers-in-law Tommy Jacklin, Keith Reinhart, Bill Siemens and Pat Korpatt.
