Obituary for Ronald Nelson Utke

Ronald(Ron) Utke born July 9, 1950 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Ron was the eldest son of the late Alice and Virgil Utke. He grew up in Prince Albert, SK, where he met his beloved "Jeanie" Jean (Campbell). On Aug 4, 1973, they were married.

Ron spent his first year living in a railway car as his dad worked for the railway. He liked the moving train and would only sleep when on the move. This made for a restless soul - always open to new ideas, technology, and trades. He took training in welding, machinist and plumbing which served him well when he started farming. But of all the training he took what he most enjoyed was the classes in sailing. He always had time for the kids and grandchildren to play cards, board games, computer games and fishing. He never met a stranger that he couldn't have a conversation and a laugh with.

Ron is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jean; daughter Ann(Ryan) Farn - grandchildren Zander & Zoey; son Ian(Amanda) Utke - grandchildren Jacob, Dysen, & Weston; his sister Sharon(Phillip) Powell; nephews Chad (Joanne & Brooklyn) Henry, Brad(Heather) Henry; his brother Michael Utke; Uncle Harvey Miller and many cousins & extended family.

Ron passed suddenly on April 15, 2016. His laugh and company will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Donations maybe made to the Porcupine-Carragana Hospital Auxiliary as a token of remembrance.
