    Obituary for Anna Mary Taphorn

    Anna Mary Taphorn
Anna Mary Taphorn (nee Duesener) was born August 16, 1931 on a farm near Muenster, Saskatchewan. Anna went to school in St. James until the age of 16; she then found employment in housekeeping with several families. It was when she was working for August Roth that she met and later married the love of her life Paul Taphorn on July 8, 1954.
Together they started their new chapter in their life on the farm in the Barford area. Starting a family, farming and raising animals; they were kept very busy and as the family grew they moved off the farm and into McKague in 1967. They raised eight children together; six girls and two boys. While Paul worked full time with CP Rail and farmed, Anna kept very busy caring for the children, the house and her big garden.
Anna was a strong, devoted Catholic. She always thanked God for what she had and never asked for more. She worked hard making sure all the small details of everyday life were attended to. She enjoyed the company of family and friends and the celebrations that went with them.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Paul of 52 years, parents Henry and Frieda Duesener and brothers-in-law Peter Andruchow and Hans Knoop.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Margaret (Lucien) Bussiere, Mary (Tony) Gamboa, Wilfred Taphorn, Pattye Taphorn, Delores (Merle) Goeson, Dorothy (David) Frey, Donald Taphorn and Lynda (Chester) Higgins; 24 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; sisters Rose Andruchow and Cathy Knoop; brothers: Hank (Linda) Duesener, John (Shirley) Duesener and Frank (Nancy) Duesener; special friends Ed & Yvonne Lefebre; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
