    Obituary for Elsie Pritchard

    Elsie Pritchard
Elsie was born in Tuffnell, Saskatchewan in the year 1926 to Alex and Mary Ukrainetz. To this family Elsie was blessed with three brothers and three sisters. In 1932 the family moved to Tisdale, Saskatchewan where her dad was the CPR section foreman. Elsie took her schooling in Tisdale; and then became employed at the Tisdale Supply Store. While growing up Elsie had learned to work hard and also play hard. There was lots of love and laughter growing up.
In 1944 she met Nick Court from New Osgoode; July 15, 1945 wedding bells were ringing and they tied the knot. Elsie and Nick had 7 sons and two daughters; three baby infants passed away. The family lived in Kinistino where they farmed and in Birch Hills where they had the Royalite Service Station and Nick Court and Sons Construction. Elsie moved to Prince Albert in 1975 where she was employed as a bookkeeper for P.A. Gulf Station.
Elsie married Wallace Pritchard April 7, 1980, they resided in the Town of Tisdale; mom was home again. Mom and Wallace shared a love of God and family; uniting two large families and friends. They also had fun doing sports like curling and horseshoes, enjoyed camping, card playing and travelling. Mom and Wallace were blessed with 12 wonderful years.
Mom enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and sharing this with the family. Many Christmases mom blessed us with large goodie boxes, turkey, perogies, cabbages rolls, buns, date swirls, short bread, walnut squares, chocolates and dill pickles. Not only did mom reign in domestic and business but curling and horseshoe tournaments.
Elsie was very compassionate with people she knew and also strangers. She had a heart of gold. She played Santa Claus and aunt Sophie or Joyce Nontell was Mrs. Claus at Newmarket Manor, they brought many smiles and laughter to so many. Mom was known for her hugs and kisses, you couldn’t escape them and you looked forward to them. The grandchildren remember cartwheels, climbing tree, swimming, camping, dancing, other shenanigans and her sense of humor.
Mom will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. She not only touched lives, she went above and beyond and touched souls.
Left to cherish her memory is her children: Robert (Alice) Court, Ron (Wendy) Court, Linda (Bill) Hryciw, Donna (Charlie) Fritshaw, Jim (Kristina) Court and Jack Court; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; as well as many extended family and friends.
