    Obituary for Elaine Elsie Ford

    Elaine Elsie Ford
Elaine was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan to Joseph and Hazel Salmond and spent her early years around Lake Lenore. As a youngster her family moved to Porcupine Plain. She had 4 sisters and 5 brothers and this made for a big happy family and a few squabbles as well.
In 1946 she married David Ford in Tisdale and they had 5 children: Claudia, Dalis, Virginia, Tammy and Travis. They farmed northwest of Tisdale. She was always busy with a big garden, helping Dave with the farm which included milking cows, separating the milk, feeding pigs and caring for the chickens. She also helped with the harvest and bailing of hay. In later years they built a dairy farm and milked around 60 cows year round. When they sold the dairy, they purchased a house in Tisdale. Elaine worked in the hospital kitchen, did home care and also babysat in the house. They moved to Sicamoose, British Columbia for a few years and she did some cooking in a bush camp around Edson. When they moved back home Elaine and Dave were custodians of TUCS until their retirement.
Elaine was an excellent cook and her cinnamon buns and butter horns were looked forward to by all the family. She loved to look after her flowers and watch the birds and any wildlife. They purchased a cabin at Marean Lake and spent many happy years there and only sold it when their health no longer allowed them to go down. Elaine had a lovely singing voice and sang many years in the choir in the Presbyterian Church. She loved to have singsongs and enjoyed listening to the music channel on TV and her tapes. Elaine and Dave spent many years with their friends square dancing and going to other dances as well. They had a great bunch of friends and spent many an evening playing cards and having a great time.
Elaine loved her family more than anything and liked nothing better than seeing all of her kids and grandchildren and later the great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
