Obituary for Clara Harper Lynn Schwanke

Our beautiful Clara Harper Lynn Schwanke was born in Saskatoon, Sask on June 27, 2016 and passed from this life on August 28, 2018. Clara passed away in her mother’s arms and her father by her side after a sudden decline in health. Clara was born with a heart defect that needed 3 surgical interventions to repair. She was in the NICU in Saskatoon from birth to September 17, 2016. In that time she was transferred to Edmonton Stollery Children’s Hospital where she received her first surgery that went perfectly. She then was able to go home to Tisdale with her parents. On October 17th, 2016 Clara had to go back to Edmonton for her second surgery; which brought on more complications for Clara. She spent most of her life in Edmonton, Alberta at Stollery Children’s Hospital from October 17th, 2016 to October 26th, 2017 where she received many surgeries. She also was in royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Sask. From October 26th 2017 to August 28th, 2018, with a month visit to Edmonton Stollery in between.

Even in her short little life Clara met many people between family, friends or other people along her journey. Clara, even though only 2, still impacted those people though her beautiful eyes, little smile, gentle grace, courage and strength. Clara was David and Amy’s greatest gift!

She was predeceased by her grandfather Bernard Schwanke.

Left to cherish Clara’s memory are her parents David and Amy Schwanke; grandparents Marla Schwanke (mother of David), Lloyd and Wanda Jackson (parents of Amy); aunties and uncles: Tammy and Cory Baptist, Ashley and Jordan Spagrud, Ivy and Allan Wilson; cousins Tomas Baptist, Brady Spagrud, Carter and Lane Wilson; as well as many extended family and friends.
