Obituary for Jeanne Ida Horncastle

Jeanne Ida Horncastle
March 1, 1952 - January 9, 2019
Jeanne Ida Horncastle of Ridgedale,Sk. passed away in the early morning hours of January 9th, 2019 in the Tisdale Hospital surrounded by her children and her spouse.
Jeanne was born on March 1,1952 to Jo and Bill Crothers of Glaslyn, Sk. She was one of five children; a sister to Rita, Edna (Jim), Bill and Shirley (Morris). Growing up she spent many of her summers at Turtle Lake, Sk. Later returning to the cabin with her own family for several gatherings.
Jeanne moved to Saskatoon for a short time before finding herself out west in Kamloops B.C where she met Ted Dysart and had four children. In 1981 Jeanne and her children returned to Saskatchewan where she worked hard as a single mother until she met the cowboy of her dreams at a “single parents” dance in Prince Albert. After a quick courtship she moved in with Orville Wells at his farm south of Ridgedale where they blended their two families.
Jeanne took to farm life quickly learning to cook big home cooked meals and became passionate about canning. She worked in the service industry as a bartender, a waitress and a camp housekeeper in the oilfield. After retiring, she joined Orville in selling her preserves and fresh produce at the local farmers markets. She liked working with people and loved giving everyone she met a “hard time”.
Jeanne enjoyed some travel with Orville into the states, Alberta and B.C as well as many drives around the countryside. She loved getting away on “sister trips” to Las Vegas, the Caribbean and the Maritimes.
Her greatest accomplishment was her family. She was a devoted spouse to Orville; a loving mother to Edward (Amy), Eileen (Jason), Estelle, William (Shannon), Ed (Jennifer) and Trianne; a fun-loving grandma to Jessie (Kalem), Parker (Jessica), Dakota (Becca), Riley, Havana, Reinna, Madison, Zach, Kaitlyn, Keisha, Ashley, Kirsten, Aiden and Avery, as well as her great granddaughter Neera.
Her laugh and accepting nature will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Jeanne will be welcomed into heaven by her parents Bill and Jo Crothers, her brother-in-law Les Neufeld and her son-in-law (to be) Jeff Mullan.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jeanne at the Ridgedale Hall in Ridgedale, SK. March 1, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Tisdale Hospital Auxilary.
