Obituary for Rose Harris

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Harris on February 13, 2019 at the age of 82. Rose passed away suddenly and very unexpectedly in Red Deer. Rose was born in Chelan, Saskatchewan the 7th child of eight to Theodore and Mary Madarash. Rose married Mickey Harris on September 6, 1957 in Vancouver and they were married for 52 years and had two children, Julie and Robert. After living in Vancouver for 10 years they moved back to Tisdale to help on Grandpa Harris’ farm. Mick started his plumbing business with Rose, his best asset for 38 years.

Rose was active and was well loved throughout the community, always with an open door to anyone; before you could take your shoes off she would be snapping your picture and handing you the guest book. Six years after Mick’s passing she moved to Red Deer in July 2015. She was a very active lady with bowling, cards, dancing, day trips and many walks with her daughter.

She was devoted to her church and had a very loving caring personality. She will be missed by many. In her words “Remember me for my faith, my love and my pictures”.

Thank you for attending this service from her daughter Julie (Hugh) McKenna, son Robert (Amanda) Harris, Rose’s grandchildren Shayla McKenna, Bryn and Aiden Longcroft-Harris.
