Obituary for Barry Gene Mievre

Barry Gene Mievre was born March 20, 1953 to André and Lenore Mievre. He passed away peacefully with family by his side March 28, 2019.

Barry took his schooling in Tisdale. After school he spent a short stint in Thompson and Snow Lake Manitoba. He returned home and married Beatrice Trombley on October 21, 1972 and to this union Trevor and Tara were born. He started working at the Co-op and remained there until his retirement in March 2018. He very much loved his retirement, spending time at home and the lake.

Barry got the hunting bug from his father-in-law and until last fall he was still hunting and got his last elk. Barry loved his hunting buddies and it broke his heart when he started losing them. It was never the same out there for him. He became a grandpa in 2004 and cherished every one of his grandchildren. Barry was a very good cook like his mother. His meals, smoked meats and fish will be missed by all that enjoyed them.

His favorite place to be was at home with family and friends or with his lake family at Greenwater. Two years ago he decided he wanted to be baptized; so on a beautiful Easter Monday, himself, his son-in-law and a good friend were all baptized. It was an amazing night. Barry was a strong, lovable, genuine and honest man.

Barry was predeceased by his mom and dad Lenore and André Mievre; mother and father-in-law Dorilda and Alex Trombley; brothers-in-law: Leonard, Maurice and Allen Trombley, and Stan Leffler; sister-in-law Emma Hudson; nephews Aaron Motiuk and Nathan Miller and niece Nicole Trombley.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Beatrice of 46 years, son Trevor (Amy Mullen), daughter Tara (Ryan) Teale; grandchildren: Tatum and Saylor Teale and Grayson Mievre; sisters Mary (Leroy) Peters, Heather Mievre, brother Bill (Debbie) Mievre; as well as many nieces, nephews extended family, Mievre and Trombley sides and friends.
