Obituary for Violet Grace Forsyth

Violet Grace Forsyth (nee Christianson) was born on November 20, 1938 in Naicam, Saskatchewan; the youngest of eleven children born to Carl and Clara Christianson.
She was always an outdoor kid and loved to play with her dog and explore the wooded areas at the farm. As the baby of the family, she had plenty of loving brothers and sisters to help care for her.
She loved to read and could often be found with “her nose in a book”. She enjoyed school so much she decided to become an elementary school teacher. After completing Teacher’s College in Saskatoon, she accepted a teaching position in a small country school located in Spruce Lake, Saskatchewan. She attended the local church where she met Oliver and Laura Forsyth. It’s been said that when the Forsyth’s returned from church, Oliver said to his son William “There is a new girl in church – and if you don’t start dating her, I will”. Mom married the man of her dreams, William Forsyth, on April 30, 1960.
Three children arrived in quick succession – Sherree in 1962, Shelly in 1965 and Sheldon in 1967. After Sherree married Roy Zimmerman in 1984, two granddaughters also joined the family; Amanda in 1987 and Kaitlyn in 1990.
Violet is predeceased by her husband Bill, parents Carl and Clara Christianson, in-laws Oliver and Laura Forsyth, sisters: Rubell (Gerald) Anderson, Beatrice (Benny) Anderson, Doris (Garnet) Williams, Maxine (Duane) Dickey and Maurine Otsig, brother Rudy (Eileen) Christianson and brother-in-law Arvin Hansen.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children; Sherree (Roy) Zimmerman, Shelly Forsyth and Sheldon Forsyth, granddaughters Amanda and Kaitlyn Zimmerman, sisters Stella Hansen, Jean (Garland) Nygaard and brothers Glen (Rita) Christianson and Milton (Shirley) Christianson; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

"The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind"
