Obituary for Donald Hedin

Donald was born on March 29th, 1933 in Dahlton, SK. He was the second of four children to George and Petra Hedin. He spent the majority of his life on the family farm near Dahlton. He met his sweetheart Dorothy Christianson at the age of 14 and got married five years later at the Dahlton Church on June 19th, 1953. Throughout his life he enjoyed working on his mixed farm alongside his family. The boys still have fond memories of picking rocks, roots and milking the cows. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, curling, old time dancing, playing cards and drinking coffee with friends and neighbors. Don and Dot moved to Tisdale in 1997. Throughout his retirement he enjoyed wood working, looking after yard work, fishing, and babysitting his grandkids.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years Dorothy; his sons Wayne (Karen), Doug (Donna), Rodney (Letitia), Randy, Kim (Shauna), Rick (Kimberly), his Sister Joyce (Elymer) Lischynski, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his Parents George and Petra Hedin, Brother Gordon and wife Myrtle Hedin, Sister Patsy Ernst, Sisters-in-laws Eileen Chowen, Gloria Broeckel and Lila Christianson.
