Obituary for Lyle Wallman

Lyle Wallman of Nokomis, SK passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday January 16, 2021 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK at the age of 71. Lyle was born August 5, 1949 to Jacob and Annie Wallman in Tisdale, SK and was the youngest of 14 children. He was raised in Valparaiso, SK and lived in many places throughout Western Canada during his early adulthood; in 1975 he found himself in Choiceland, SK as he began a career with Canadian Pacific Railway. During this time is when Lyle met his partner Joan of 38 years and started a family. In 1993, Lyle was transferred with work to Nokomis, SK where he resided until his passing. In 2000, he had to take an early retirement due to progressive stages of muscular dystrophy.

Throughout his life, Lyle was a hard worker and took great pride in being a “family man”. Two of his favourite things to do were family road trips to visit relatives and spend his summers camping at the lake. Lyle never said no to fishing and when relatives came to the lake, he was always happy to take them out on the boat. Lyle was a jack of all trades. He built houses, dabbling in carpentry/construction and was a trackman at the CP Rail for 25 years. Throughout the years, Lyle enjoyed listening to old country music, craft and DIY projects, playing cards, watching wrestling, reading old Western novels and working on sudoku puzzles. The accomplishments of his daughters are one of his greatest sources of pride. Lyle and his granddaughter Tianna have a special bond; even though she outgrew his lap, she never outgrew his heart.

He was predeceased by his father, Jacob; mother, Annie; brothers, Gilly, Sam, Walter, Jim, Joe, Willy, Pete; sisters, Bessie and Lil; and a few nieces and nephews.

Lyle leaves to mourn his caring wife, Joan; two daughters, Krystle and Krissy; and his granddaughter, Tianna; his two sisters, Rose and Tilly; two brothers, Bruce and John; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
