Obituary for David Albert Green

The family of David Green are heartbroken to announce the death of their husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He passed away peacefully January 21, 2021 at the South Health Campus in Calgary; Alberta due to complications following surgery for cancer.
On December 17, 1939 David Albert Green was born in Crooked River, Saskatchewan to parents Sam and Ida Green. He was their fifth child in a family that would grow to nine children.
David was survived by his wife Lenore whom he married in 1974, their daughter Kim, son-in-law Chris Gilroy, as well as his most treasured grandsons Jacob and Teddy. To them he was “Pop”; to him they were his world. David is also survived by brothers Sam of Saskatoon, Grant (Dawn) 108-mile House British Columbia, Joe (Linda) of Westbank, British Columbia; his sisters are Marge (Dale) McIntosh of Victoria, British Columbia, Marion (Matt) Wonitowy of Edmonton, Alberta, Bev (Leon) Kurtz of Hope, British Columbia, brother-in-law Sid Mitchell of Prairie River; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
David was predeceased by his parents Sam and Ida Green, his brother Donald, sister Doris Grieves and her husband Herman, his sister-in-law Beverley Green, niece Tammy Campbell, nephew-in-law Eric Galipeau and Lenore’s parents Frank (Bud) and Marie Mitchell.
David loved nature, the outdoors, animals and fishing. He followed sports, politics and stock market and also enjoyed volunteer work. David very much enjoyed travelling with family. Two of his favorite places were Invermere, British Columbia in the summer and Mexico in the winter. Most important to him was caring for his family.
