Obituary for Eva Deforest

Agatha "Eva" Deforest was born October 9, 1944 in Waldheim, SK and passed peacefully from this life, with her family by her side, on March 4, 2021 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 76 years.
As a child Eva's family moved to Gladstone, Manitoba where she spent her childhood and teenage years. When it was time to leave home Eva moved first to Portage La Prairie, and then onto Winnipeg. It was in Winnipeg that she met the love of her life Arnold, who will tell you that he knew she was something special the moment he laid eyes on her, and boy was he right!
When Arnold got transferred to Calgary, Eva moved to Edmonton until they wed in 1968 and the newlyweds settled first in Calgary, then onto Hudson Bay and finally to the farm at Prairie River. Their home on the farm was just that, a home...to everyone who passed through the doors. Neighbors quickly became friends, if the coffee wasn't on, it would be in short order and there was almost always something delicious to enjoy with it. Many laughs were shared around their kitchen table. Eva was never a person to sit idle, she was always sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, tending to the yard and garden, helping dad in the field or the corral and if you think that wasn't enough mom worked part time as a home health aid for 27 years.
Christmas always brought something she had crafted to everyone she met during the season, be it friend or family, the clerk at the grocery store, the teller at the bank, the lady at the postoffice, or someone she met walking down the street.
She worked tirelessly at numerous community functions for every organization in the community and even ones she wasn't involved with...always said I thought they could use a hand.
Eva was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who genuinely cared about everyone and made everyone feel special all the time. She will be missed for her infectious smile, contagious laugh, kindness, sense of humor, table dancing skills and of course her hugs.
With a smile so warm it gave your heartstrings a tug, she'd open her arms, saying, "I'll have a hug!"
