Obituary for Mary Gray

Mary was born in Tisdale Sask. on Feb. 8th. 1930 to Jim and Wilhelmina Van Koughnett
She took her schooling at Treasure School until 1944, then in Arborfield.
On Oct. 2, 1946 she married Charlie Gray and moved to Edson Alberta. In the spring of 1949 they moved to Charlie’s father’s homestead east and south of Arborfield.
They raised 4 sons, Stanley, Leonard, Glen and Allan.
Mary always had a big garden and raised chickens, she was a great cook and could make a meal out of nothing.
Mary and Charlie spent lots of summers at Thunder Rapids camping and fishing after moving to Arborfield in 1974 where Mary became highly active in the community. She was a member of the Berkley Farmerettes, the Anglican Church Vestry and ACW, Seniors Club, Legion Auxiliary and the Arborfield Curling Club.
Mary loved curling and everyone said she was the luckiest curler ever. You can still hear people at the rink say, Wow, that was a Mary Gray shot”!
Mary liked watching curling, the Game show, the Animal channel on TV. She loved Bingo, playing cards, especially crib, Yatzee and Skip Bo.

After Charlie’s passing, she lived on her own in the Seniors Circle in Arborfield and enjoyed her frequent visits with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of her life.
She moved to Pasquia Place in Carrot River in April 2016 when her health started failing her. She moved to Arborfield Special Care Home in May 2017 where she received excellent care up until her passing.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Charlie an infant daughter Dena Lynn, 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
She is survived by her sons Stanley (Theresa), Leonard (Elizabeth), Glen (Bernice) and Allan (Brenda). 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and numerus nieces and nephews.
