Edwin(Ted) Wightman Everitt

September 24, 1929 – March 31, 2026

Born to Irene (Hill) and Marcus Everitt in Star City, Saskatchewan. Following 96 years in the area Ted shut down for good, naturally, in Tisdale.

Though the farm was always the favourite place for Ted and the family, the Soldier Settlement appointment of his dad led to stays in other communities, including Wadena, where most of his school years were enjoyed. Agricultural College followed and some “old school” encouragement from dad ensured graduation rather than the temptation of a pro hockey career.

Ted spared no efforts to become a successful farmer but he soon found the best partner he could have hoped for in Edro Pruden of Nipawin. Following their marriage, they managed to build a new home on the farm and expand the operation to one that was well admired. After hard work, Ted and Edro allowed themselves to enjoy their cabin at Greenwater and vacations with friends to ski or golf and other adventures further afar. Winter at home meant full curling and social schedules and anticipation of the season ahead.

Sadly, Edro lost a difficult cancer battle in 1997 just as thoughts of retirement were on the horizon. Thanks to the support of friends and eventually companionship from Ida Rolles and then Maxine Oskrip, Ted continued to enjoy most every day. With a residence in Tisdale and good health until recent months, Ted looked forward to golf, curling, cards, pool and talking business and other news.

Ted is survived by his sister, Thelma McIntyre and her children as well as nephews and a niece from the Pruden clan. Many more relatives and friends will fondly remember Ted and the time they always looked forward to sharing with him.

In keeping with the practice of Ted, any donations to charities, health and community organizations you may wish to make would be well placed.
