Obituary for Daniel Wesley "Dan" Heebner

    Daniel Wesley "Dan" Heebner
Dan was born September 27, 1991, a beautiful baby boy and changed our lives forever from that moment on. He was a very happy child and brought great joy to us all.

At an early age, Dan developed an appreciation of outdoor life, spending time at the lake with family and friends. Camping, fishing, watersports and tending the camp fire became passions of his.

Sporting activities were also central to Dan’s life. He enjoyed playing hockey, ball, track and field, golf, tennis, snowmobiling, snowboarding and wakeboarding.

Family and friends were very important to Dan as well. He had a good family and a group of good friends that he cherished spending time with. Basement hockey and Xbox competitions were always intense.

Dan enjoyed his school years as well. He became a good student and had plans on becoming an electrician following high school. When Dan was seventeen he began to experience tremors in his hands. This altered his future plans dramatically. He lived and worked in Saskatoon for two years, however as these symptoms began to progress he was forced to move back home.

After five and a half years of doctoring he was finally properly diagnosed with Juvenile Huntington’s disease. Through it all, he always remained positive and courageously fought this disease for nearly eight years before his passing on October 15, 2016.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Mark and Joanne; sister Kim (Derek) Derkach; baba Anne Shumay; aunt Janet and uncle Wade Hainstock; aunt Susan Shumay and uncle Jeff Morrison; aunt Geri Laurence; cousins Mira Laurence, Zach (Jenay) Hainstock, Brea (Tim) Good, Jessie (Dave) Hainstock; as well as many more family and friends.

We all love you Dan and will miss you, till we meet again.
